About Us

The Preston Photographic Club Inc is a vibrant community for photography enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels. Founded in 1948, we’re proud to be Victoria’s third oldest photographic club. What started with nine photographers meeting in a private home has grown into a dynamic group that continues to inspire, support, and connect people through a shared passion for photography.

Our members come from diverse backgrounds and bring with them a wide range of skills—from those just starting their photography journey to experienced professionals. Together, we create a welcoming space to learn, share, and develop new ideas.

The club offers a varied program throughout the year, including workshops, photo walks, guest speakers, themed assignments, competitions, and field trips. These activities are designed to challenge and inspire, while also providing opportunities to connect with others who share the same creative drive. Beyond developing technical skills, we value collaboration, creativity, and the friendships that grow along the way.

Whether your interests lie in landscapes, portraits, street photography, or exploring emerging trends in digital photography, the Preston Photographic Club provides the support and inspiration to help you grow.

Visitors are always welcome—join us at a meeting, get involved in our activities, and see how being part of an active, creative community can take your photography further.

The Preston Photographic Club gets together on the second and fourth Monday evenings each month—check our Events Calendar for the latest details, as we take a summer break over Christmas and January, and sometimes switch to Tuesday if a Monday is a public holiday.

Got a fifth Monday? That’s our social night! A relaxed evening to meet fellow photographers, swap stories, and share inspiration.

New to the club? You’re more than welcome to drop by a meeting and chat with one of our committee members about joining—no cameras required for the first visit!
